Symptom

You see one of the following error messages:

• "The service cannot be started"
• "Class not registered, ClassID: {06E7001C-9765-11D6-819E-005056C00008}"

Cause

This is typically caused by a corrupted installation or registration issues, often occurring after Windows updates.

Solution

Reinstall DU Meter over the existing installation (without uninstalling first):

1. Download a fresh copy from hageltech.com/dumeter/download
2. Reboot your computer to clear any pending file operations
3. Run the installer - it will install over the existing version
4. This should resolve the service registration issues
