Backup and Restore DU Meter Settings

Overview

If you need to reinstall Windows or migrate to a new PC, you can manually backup and restore your DU Meter configuration using the Windows Registry.

Registry Keys to Export

DU Meter stores its settings in these registry locations:

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Hagel\DU Meter
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Hagel\DU Meter

How to Export (Backup)

  1. Press Win+R, type regedit and press Enter
  2. Navigate to each registry key listed above
  3. Right-click the key → select Export
  4. Save each as a .reg file

How to Import (Restore)

  1. Install DU Meter on the new system
  2. Double-click each .reg file to import the settings
  3. Restart DU Meter

Note: This method may not work across different DU Meter versions or if DU Meter is installed in a different location on the new system.
