# DU Meter crashes upon first run after an upgrade

### Symptom

DU Meter crashes when run for the first time after an upgrade from a previous major version.

### Cause

Some components were not updated properly during the upgrade, typically because a reboot was required but not performed.

### Solution

1. **Reboot your computer** - If the DU Meter installer asked you to reboot, do so before trying to run DU Meter

2. **Reinstall DU Meter** - If DU Meter does not run properly even after restarting:
   - Download a fresh copy from [hageltech.com/dumeter/download](https://www.hageltech.com/dumeter/download)
   - Run the installer - **do not** uninstall first
   - This overwrites the existing installation and fixes component mismatches
